About Department of Marketing
The Department of Marketing, founded in 2003, is part of the School of Economics and is currently formed by 58 members, of whom 29 are full time and 32 have PhDs.
Marketing staff develops research in different topics, mainly focused on Advertising-IMC, Consumer Behaviour, Distribution Channels, E-marketing, International Marketing, Strategic Marketing, and Tourism Marketing.
Its teaching activity focuses on undergraduate degrees in Business Administration, International Business Administration, Tourism, and Business and Law. At the postgraduate level we offer a specific Master in Marketing and also an International MBA. A PhD Programme In Marketing is also offered since 2003-04 that has received the only certificate of quality in the field of marketing granted by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation. It also offers and Executive Marketing Program with Valencia Chamber of Commerce since ten years ago and a Junior MBA with EDEM with seven editions.
Their members chair three endowed chairs: Air Nostrum Service Quality in Airlines (Enrique Bigne 2005-2010), Family Business (Enrique Bigne 2010-2012), and Valencia Town (Amparo Cervera 2012-)
Their research is disseminated through papers, conferences, and chapter books.
The Department hosted International conferences, such as 2002 Multicultural Marketing Conference of The Academy of Marketing Science, the 2007 Advances in Tourism Marketing Conference, 9th International Conference on Arts and Cultural Management of the International Association of Arts and Cultural Management in 2007, II Workshop in Cultural Economics and Management in 2010, the 25th European Academy of Management and Business Economics Conference in 2010, and the 17th International Conference on Research in the Distributive Trades of the European Association of Education and Research in Commercial Distribution (EAERCD).
